A beautiful calm day with interesting grey skies marked our final day at sea en-route to Southampton.
I had a yummy feast of pink lamingtons in the Grills Lounge where I had sought refuge to get a better internet connection, only to find it all set up for afternoon tea. I invited a passing couple to join me, Dale and Jen from Michigan. They love sailing.
Another birthday this evening, this time for David. He and Shirley (seared on the bed) invited all our table to pre-dinner drinks in their stateroom.
A fun final dinner ensued.
Above is mozzarella and sour cherries.
Then a final show –
Before our arrival in Southampton the following morning.
In the morning I disembarked and went by coach to Victoria Station. I couldn’t face fighting to find my suitcase a seat on the train with everyone else clutching cases as well, with no space n the carriage for cases, despite the train going to and from Southampton, the home of cruise and ocean liners.
An elegant last evening but disappointing arrival – good to have variety.
It looks so inviting! Must have to shed a tear as you tear yourself away.
