This play at The Garrick Theatre started well. It was very amusing – a film producer in Hollywood lives a life centred entirely around himself. Acerbic, sarcastic, verbal, vile but amusing. His staff avoid conflict by obeying his every command, and there are lots of them.
John Malkovich play the lead character, clearly but loosely based an Harvey Weinstein, so you know what’s coming.
When it does hit and he propositions an actress, it become unwatchable, disgusting, vomitorious. The subject matter disgusted me. Malkovich was very good in the role though.
I left at interval.
Did others leave at interval â or were they enjoying their disgust?
