The Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul in St Petersburg is the final resting place for most of the Romanov Tzars. A little gilt on the outside but a lot on the inside.
Everyone was keen to see the resting place of the last of the Romanovs – Nicholas and Alexandra and their children and servants. Anastasia is there but there are two bodies that they have not been able to recover.
We were treated to a private concert by singers of the Cathedral in a small chapel (where we weren’t supposed to take pictures- they tell me afterwards. Of course we all bought a CD as their voices were magnificent.
