Mikhailovsky ballet

A wonderful evening at St Petersburg’s Mikhailovsky Theatre for a performance of the ballet ‘Don Quixote’.

The Don be the perfect ballet role for me. No dancing, just riding in on a horse and then some prancing around with a long staff, waving to an imaginary adoring public. Totally superfluous to the rest of the action.

The real action was a dance-off between a guy in white tights and one in black tights and two ballerinas who we couldn’t tell apart.

There was some dwarf throwing, for good measure.
