Anglican Catholic Mission 2018

Started the day with breakfast in my suite.

I took the Red Lift to the foyer,

but chose to walk rather than take the car.

Saw some familiar sights and sites on the way along the Strand to Fleet Street.

St Mary-Le-Strand, home to the WRENS.

A familiar street name at Australian High Commission.

St Clement Danes (Air Force)

and finally to The Royal Courts of Justice.

Adjacent to that building and just inside the City of London is St Dunstan’s-in-the-West.

It has a rather unique clock.

This is the site of the Anglican Catholic Mission Conference 2018, a co-conference organised by Anglican Catholic Future bad Forward-in-Faith.

The church is also home to a Romanian Orthodox congregation and is blessed with a grand Iconostasis.

Our keynote speaker on prayer and mission was Bishop Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury.

A most interesting and lengthy talk on prayer as observation of the Kingdom.

Following this we had our opportunity to ‘look’ at God through Evensong and benediction led by Bishop Philip North,

With an excellent sermon by the Reverend Anna Matthews.

A great afternoon and beginning to our conference.

  1. You had such a splendid day – I walked with you along the Strand and Fleet Street ,where I worked for Associated Press in the Reuters building.

I liked St Dunstan in the West’s clock where the burley muscle men struck the hour with their

    stout sticks.
