On Saturday, Australia Day 26 January 2013, I attended a thanksgiving mass at St George’s Malvern, my alma mater as curate. It was a lovely service from A Prayer Book for Australia using prayers crafted by indigenous women. Appropriately it centres on reconcilliation between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians (perhaps a bit limited in its breadth for me), but our open-air service under a gum tree was well crafted and I enjoyed Fr John Stewart’s homily.
