Peterhof – Peter the Great’s Palace

A stunning palace with magnificent grounds on the Bay of Finland. The fountains are all gravity fed from the nearby hills. Peter the Great certainly did have a thing for water.

We came back to the city on a hydrofoil, passing the new Gasprom building (the highest building in Europe), and the World Cup stadium.

I almost felt as though I needed to put on my sunglasses to look at the magnificent rooms! Amazingly beautiful. And the grounds also. Peter certainly did know a thing or two about water.
