Another sell out season for a play at the National Theatre.
Roger Allum starred in this play by Githa Sowerby. Somewhat autobiographical.
He was very good but the promise of an overbearing father and a completely disfunctional family trapped on the north of England didn’t really appeal to be. And it was a bit close to the bone. I had trouble understanding the thick accents at the beginning, but that passed.
I found it captured the reality of living with a bully very well, even if there was to be no happy ending.
Not for the faint hearted.
