on the way back from Nazareth to our hotel in Tiberias we stopped at Cana, where Christ attended a wedding and rather reluctantly performed the first miracle recorded in St John’s gospel.
This is a stone jar, and hitch would have held water for purification – water that Jesus turned into wine in 6 jars of this size.
The ancient walls are exposed under the current church on the site.
