One night in Bangkok

Actually one day in Bangkok but I spent it relaxing in my hotel. I intended to go into the city by train, but it became too complicated having to get Thai currency, convert the Baht to a token and end up with a pocket full of shrapnel coins I don’t want. You can’t use a credit card on the various Thai metro lines, nor does one ticket operate on both systems. Seen it, been there, done that. That decision probably saved me buying unnecessary items too.

The train surfaces just outside my hotel

I considered a ‘Office Syndrome Massage’ at the hotel spa but wavered when I saw the cost. I’d rather spend it on dinner.

And dinner it was, a buffet.

Risky – I’ve seen their river 🥺

No ill effects, thanks. A good night’s sleep and and early morning rise for my flight to London Stanstead via Dubai.

I forgot breakfast as I wanted to get to the check-in and avoid queues. Back I went through the spooky underground link, sans people.

And then I stumbled upon a capsule hotel – I thought it was something for cats. Just sitting there in the empty walkway.

A empty Bangkok Airport looks like a scene for a sci-fi movie!
