Hi-Ho, High Holborn

What a beautiful evening it was to be our walking in London. Everywhere there are things that remind me of home.

Tonight I was going to the theatre in Aldwych and I walked there, down Southampton Row, across High Holborn and down Kingsway. A very pleasant stroll to the Novello Theatre.

The performance was Noises Off. Yes I realize that you probably saw the production in Melbourne, but I didn’t so I thought I would catch it here and it was a hoot. Cecile Imrie was the lead as ‘Dotty Otley’. She was, of course, in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel which you must have seen recently, as well as Calendar Girls and lots of TV shows including Midsomer Murders, so you know she can get a laugh. And she did.

Written by Michael Frayn, known for his translations of Chekhov (which this certainly wasn’t, fortunately), it originally starred Patricia Routledge, so that too gives you some idea if you haven’t yet seen it.

I certainly had a good loud laugh!
