It was a short walk to Liverpool St Station, which is why It chose to stay there.

The train to Stansted was ready to go so I dragged my bags onboard and we set off. What a long day’s journey it would be.

The journey to the airways relatively quick. The waiting was not. I had confused the boarding time with the departure time so I was hours early. First I had to wait for the check-in to open. At least I was at the front of the queue.

Then I had to spend two hours waiting for boarding. I spun out two large cups of tea so I could sit in a cafe as there was no lounge. The place was crowded as it is the base for several low-cost airlines such as Ryan Air.

Finally boarded my flight.

The first leg was to Dubai. No delays this time. A relatively short time changing planes for my next leg to Bangkok.

A 4 hour layover at Bangkok enabled to me to make use of a lounge courtesy of Qantas but it was small and uncomfortable.

A short trip (comparatively) to Melbourne. At least I was served my favourite yogurt, Ruby & Roy’s.

Finally home.
