40 degrees

Welcome to Dubai. The airline chauffeured me to the JW Marriott in a huge BMW – I couldn’t even reach the front seats. I even received a SIM card for my phone when I went through immigration.

Dubai was very hot, 40°, and very hazy. I know there were tall buildings out there but I could barely make then out from the car – so no photos.

But I did take photos of my suite – makes a nonsense of not being able to use their business lounge. The Marriott have a reception desk dedicated to Emirates orphans, so it was a very polished check-in. They clearly have the deal with Emirates for business class orphans – in the lower floors of 2 seventy-storey towers.

The view – reminds me of Parramatta in the 80s – lots of vacant lots
Looking forward to using this shower
I’ll have to Google ‘bidet’. Won’t report further on that.

Dinner was included at the hotel’s ‘6 Cuisines’ restaurant. A buffet-style restaurant with 6 different serving areas (Arabic, Asian, Indian, Japanese, Western and dessert). Steak and chicken and naan was the choice-de-jour.

The sweets buffet had some very good looking offerings but I wasn’t tempted to try them all.

Overall a great repaste.

And now to bed. I have a 5am wake up call as my chauffeur is arriving at 5.40am.

You didn’t know what bidet was? 😛

I knew what it was, not how to use it
